Pairs to Glory leads a bold drive against substance abuse in the Wasa IDP Abuja

At the Wassa IDP Camp in Abuja, under our United by Sports program, Pairs to Glory Foundation has launched an initiative dedicated to combating drug abuse and keeping the camp’s children and youth drug-free. This reflects our commitment to safeguarding the future by investing in substance abuse prevention through positive and engaging alternatives.

Their circumstances make them easy targets for negative influences, as idleness and limited opportunities often pave the way for harmful habits. Through structured sports activities, we offer a healthy outlet for their energy and trauma fostering discipline, teamwork, and self-worth while greatly reducing the risk of drug and substance abuse.

This phase of the project delivered new sports facilities, including a dedicated Football facility and a volleyball court, also distributed sports kits so children and youth can fully participate. These spaces now offer regular physical activity, social connection, skill-building, and mentorship. Through games and tournaments, we are uncovering hidden talents, creating pathways for future opportunities, and restoring hope to a community that has endured the challenges of displacement. Here, sports are more than play they are a lifeline to brighter futures.
