Our Programs:
Empowering Youth Through Sports and Beyond

At Pairs to Glory, we use the power of sports as a launchpad for healing, growth, and lasting change in the lives of vulnerable youth—especially those displaced or at risk. Our programmes go beyond the game to tackle trauma, build life skills, and strengthen communities from the inside out.

United by Sport: Every Child Deserves an Opportunity is a grassroots initiative reaching Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and vulnerable communities by introducing structured sports programs or supporting existing local teams. These programs offer a healthy outlet for trauma while fostering belonging, resilience, and community.

Through this initiative, we create platforms for talent discovery, mentorship, life-skills training, and mental health support. At its core, this intervention instills discipline and purpose in youth at risk of falling into cycles of crime, substance abuse, and social isolation—patterns often rooted in poverty, trauma, or lack of opportunity.

Through this program, we:

  • Introduce or Strengthen Community-Based Sports Activities
Bringing football and other structured sports to IDP camps and underserved areas to promote emotional and physical well-being while addressing the dangers of idleness.
  • Distribute Sports Kits & Equipment
Providing boots, balls, jerseys, and first aid kits to remove barriers and restore dignity.
  • Facilitate Coach Trainings & Mentorship
Running capacity-building sessions for community coaches to guide youth with empathy, structure, and leadership.
  • Conduct Substance Abuse Sensitization Campaigns
Using sports to educate youth about drug abuse and introduce healthier alternatives.
  • Offer Educational Scholarships & Skill-Building Support
Connecting promising youth to academic and vocational opportunities, especially those who can’t continue in sports.
  • Talent Discovery and Mentorship
Identifying young talents and pairing them with mentors for life planning, growth, and support.

Training the influencers who shape young athletes’ lives to promote safety, discipline, and resilience.

Real change begins with those closest to the youth. This program targets caregivers, game masters, counselors, coaches, and community leaders—training them to recognize red flags, model positive behavior, and use sports to prevent crime and substance abuse.

In partnership with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), LTCP equips frontline influencers with tools to foster safe, supportive environments. In April 2025, we trained 40 leaders in trauma-informed care, early intervention, and substance abuse prevention.

Core focus areas:

  • Trauma-informed care training
  • Talent identification & mentorship
  • Early detection and intervention for at-risk youth
  • Gender-sensitive coaching and youth engagement
  • Positive discipline through sports
  • Mental health first aid and stigma reduction

Creating safer, more supportive environments for athletes through policy reform, stigma reduction, and accessible rehabilitation.

This program tackles systemic issues around mental health, addiction, and doping in sports. Through campaigns, discussions, and partnerships, we advocate for policies that prioritize athlete well-being.

Key goals include:

  • Expanding access to mental health and rehab support for athletes
  • Promoting anti-doping education and accountability
  • Destigmatizing help-seeking behavior in competitive sports
  • Championing gender-sensitive, trauma-informed coaching

We’re launching expert-led conversations to reform policies around doping and drug-related offenses in sports. Our goal is to replace punishment-only models with compassionate, education-first strategies that guide athletes toward recovery.

We’re also assessing gaps in enforcement and protection, engaging stakeholders across sports, health, and civil society. To join this justice-informed, health-centered initiative, email: asher@pairstoglory.org

A post-sports empowerment initiative for youth who are aging out or unable to continue athletics.

Not every young person will stay on the athletic path. “Beyond the Game” supports youth, especially from displaced or vulnerable communities, as they transition to new life goals beyond sports.

Through this program, we:

  • Provide Access to Vocational Training & Apprenticeship Programs
Partnering with NGOs, artisans, and vocational centers in trades like tailoring, digital skills, photography, hairstyling, and more.
  • Offer Psycho-social Support for Life Transitions
Helping youth process identity shifts and offering mental health resources during career changes.
  • Connect Participants to Mentors & Role Models
Linking youth with individuals who’ve successfully transitioned beyond sports.
  • Foster Economic Independence & Goal Setting
Empowering youth to earn income, set goals, and contribute to their communities.
  • Provide Small-Scale Start-Up Support
Offering tools or seed funding to help kickstart their post-sports journeys.
